I have tested Windows 8 on VirtualBox - I do not like the new interface very much :? New "Metro" interface has scroll bars on desktop PCs, which is very annoying.

New/updated Task Manager is nice, though.

Thanks,

I also tried it, the new UI is hideous
I also tried VS 2011, I don't like the full-screen metro-style applications. They tried too hard to unite their different OS's, desktop OS should not be styled for a phone.

Am I the only one thinking that this world is going down the crapper. I mean how can anyone who has even some minuscule traces of brain think that something like this can actually work for normal desktop pcs? If the users at large actually find it appealing then this doesn't say anything good about the users at large...Just my 2 cents..

You always can cut off new UI - just rename C:\Windows\System32\shsxs.dll and reboot

With Microsoft's track record, I wouldn't worry too much about Windows 8. Every other OS they put out flops. They will fix what ever issue customers have with Windows 8 in Windows 9.

Windows 95 - Flop
Windows 98 - Used widely for many years
Windows ME - Flop
Windows XP - Used widely for many years
Windows Vista - Flop
Windows 7 - Being used widely
Windows 8 - ?
