I have a proxy virus which has reset my proxy settings (screwing up Chrome) and also greyed out my LAN settings, preventing me from editing them.

Removing the virus is no problem, Adware Cleaner detects it, but that also removes the virus' altered proxy settings, disabling my internet, and the LAN settings are still greyed out, so I can't reset my proxy address and port number.

I've tried editing the registry, but that resets as soon as I restart the computer. The group policy editor is no help either.

I'm using Windows 7 64 bit.

How do I re-enable my internet after removing the virus?
