Well, I'm sure you can't find AV company that does not have on board some ex VX-ers.
I have known some of them that were still active while belonging to AV industry, but I agree, we are taking over a_d_13´s topic.
Going back to the topic... I keep all the stuff because I like collecting and you never know when something like a big vx collection can be useful. i.e.: many years ago Z0MBiE told me he was going to write a tool and I should run it over my collection. Finally he didn´t send me it and I never knew what was supposed to do. Usually Z0MBiE was not very talkative. I wonder what´s he doing right now. I lost the contact with him when he stopped joining IRC.
Also the few things I know about coding was due vx collecting. I needed certain tools to manage the files in collection and as there was not anything available I had to code them by myself.

I am interested in size of people's malware collection, in terms of number of files. Also, since only one poll per post, please post the size of your collection in GB/TB. Any other information would be interesting too (i.e. exact number of files, types of files, etc.)
Thanks,

At the company, several million, number changes every day

... at home perhaps a few hundred to a few thousand, mostly "interesting" (to me) stuff like rootkits or "famous" malware.

Well, right now - packed down, around 2,5 TB. I cannot tell you how many files, but I have a log over all MD5 hashes in my collection.

I'm at about 8Tb. Long Term scraping of the major sites and places like CleanMX has helped populate it quite heavilty.

I am interested in buying a large collection of malwares/PUP and hashes malware.
Of course, depends on what price. I can also exchange malware/links malware.
Actually I have a few Tb malwares.
